GAF & The Love Supreme Arkestra es el lado más experimental y free style del colectivo tinerfeño. De formación variable el proyecto se centra principalmente en la improvisación y explora géneros como el free-jazz, ambient, noise, krautrock y el rock progresivo. Los conciertos son muy puntuales y los dos discos que han editado hasta la fecha, Gaf & The Love Supreme Arkestra (Foehn Records 2010) y Garden Island (Keroxen/Discrepant & Foehn Records 2022) son productos de grabaciones de largas jam sessions ocasionales, sin ideas preconcebidas ni edits posteriores. Actualmente, la banda trabaja como un octeto y cuenta con sección de vientos, sintetizadores modulares, percusiones y marimba.

GAF & The Love Supreme Arkestra is the experimental and free style side of the Tenerife-based collective. With a mutable formation, the project focuses mainly on improvisation and explores genres such as free-jazz, ambient, noise, krautrock and progressive rock. The concerts are very rare and the two albums they have released to date, Gaf & The Love Supreme Arkestra (Foehn Records 2010) and Garden Island (Keroxen/Discrepant & Foehn Records 2022) are products of recordings of long occasional jam sessions, without any preconceived ideas or subsequent edits. Currently, the band works as an octet and in their jams counts with a woodwind and brass section, modular synthesizers, percussion and marimba.

GARDEN ISLAND (2LP). Nuevo álbum de GAF & THE LOVE SUPREME ARKESTRA.

Garden Island es el segundo álbum del colectivo tinerfeño GAF con su formato de Gaf & The Love Supreme Arkestra. Es un trabajo grabado en directo y en una sola tarde donde la banda explora su particular y polivalente universo sonoro con la improvisación como el riguroso punto de partida de toda la composición y el free jazz, ambient y rock psicodélico como sus elementos principales. A su ya habitual instrumentación se añaden para la ocasión una sección de vientos (saxofón alto, tenor, trompeta, el pito herreño) y marimbas. El diseño es obra del reconocido pintor grancanario Sema Castro que se inspira en las grabaciones originales de la sesión al mismo tiempo que ese artwork influye en la definición final y el imaginario conceptual de la obra musical. El álbum de 74 minutos de largo es editado en vinilo doble en mayo de 2022 por los sellos Keroxen, Foehn Records en España y Discrepant con base en Londres a nivel internacional. Varios temas del álbum constituyen la parte central de la banda sonora del último documental sobre el artista lanzaroteño César Manrique, titulado ‘Utopía Manrique’ realizado por el cineasta canario Miguel Morales y producido por la Fundación César Manrique y RTVE en 2022.

Garden Island is the second album of the Tenerife collective GAF with its format of Gaf & The Love Supreme Arkestra. It is a work recorded live and in a single afternoon where the band explores its particular and polyvalent sound universe with improvisation as the rigorous starting point of the whole composition and free jazz, ambient and psychedelic rock as its main elements. To his usual instrumentation, a woodwind and brass section (alto saxophone, tenor, trumpet, and the herreño whistle) and marimbas are added for the occasion. The design is the work of the renowned Gran Canarian painter Sema Castro, who was inspired by the original recordings of the session, while this artwork influences the final definition and conceptual imagery of the musical work. The 74-minute long album is released on double vinyl in May 2022 by the labels Keroxen, Foehn Records in Spain and London-based Discrepant internationally. Several tracks from the album form the central part of the soundtrack of the latest documentary about the Lanzarote artist César Manrique,’Utopia Manrique’ made by Canarian filmmaker Miguel Morales and produced by the César Manrique Foundation and RTVE (Spanish National TV) in 2022.
